I’m blogging, and I can hardly believe it. After years of scoffing at the navel-gazers, I’m jumping in the pool. Though I can’t promise there won’t be a few diary-like moments (as Jay-Z would say, you can push fast-forward), I hope this blog can actually be of use to people. The journalist in me demands it. If I can’t pass along something helpful, there’s no point in writing it up.
I love music (hip-hop, R&B, jazz, blues, funk and pop), tech gadgets and saving money. I figure I’m not alone in these interests, and they would be good topics to blog about—particularly indulging my tech-gadget love while sticking to a budget. I tell you this has not been easy!
Full disclosure: I finally have the time to jump into blogging because I am, ahem, between gigs. I’ve wrapped up a nine-month Web design/development program, courtesy of our U.S. government, and am anxious to put what I’ve learned into practice. I’m happy to pass along info to assist my fellow displaced print journalists in the job hunt.
Looking forward to a fantastic voyage.
